Even if race is not one of the most played QW mode among the available play modes in KTX, the skills required to be the fastest at the bottom of some slopes still call some people for competition.

EQL 13 week 4 review

This week we will be doing a review of division 1 and 2. With only 6 matches played in each of those divisions it's a little scarse on things to write about, we did however see SuddenDeath make a valiant attempt to try and catchup with the rest of the field, despite not being able to put strongest lineup. More on that in the detailed review.
There was also some movement in division 2 which will be covered my co-writer GND.

With 4 weeks remaining of the regular season we have finished over a third of the season so far. As the previous Mondays here is a review of the week that has passed.
Although I am only doing division 1 this week myself and outsourced div2 to GND. So no review of division 3 will be done this week unfortunately. I hope someone will join in to do that for next week.

After a somewhat slow start to the tourney, it has finally seemed step up a phase lately with many matches being played in both the Winners Bracket and Losers Bracket.

ezQuake 2.1 beta 1

First beta-version of the QuakeWorld client ezQuake has been released this weekend. The ezQuake team would like to encourage as many players as possible to give this beta-version a try.
There are a few new major features and changes, like for example whole new linux sound support ported from fodquake, or a couple of new HUD elements, plus lots of smaller new features and fixes.
This client IS allowed in EQL 13 as per the client rules

The moment that started it all off. 15 years ago today the pre-release demo of Quake (QTest) from id Software was released. It had multiplayer support with 3 multiplayer maps (Dm1,Dm2, Dm3) no powerups, no axe, different sounds but it allowed you to create Entity Mods and custom player skins. Quake itself arrived in June 1996 with Quakeworld itself coming along in December 1996. 15 years on, the game is still alive and kicking with 36 teams competing in this seasons EQL. Hard to believe.

First week of EQL13 has passed and here we will take a look at the past weeks games and see how the different teams are doing.
Note that the first week was a little short. The EQL admins did not announce league start untill the 17th. So It's limited with the amount of games played. Hopefully it will pick up more next week.
EQL 13: Unlucky for some

The European Quakeworld League (EQL) crew has today announced the opening of signups for season 13 (cue spooky music). The season will start in just over a week, on 16th February, and will run until the 3rd April. The regular 3-division season will be followed by a playoff competition in each division, as usual. Read more information about the new season and sign up your team on the EQL13 website.
